Antique suit of armor Edo Shogun period w/ Tokubetsu-Kicho Certificate

A stunning antique armor on display at SAMURAI STORE TOKYO. A quality antique armor from the mid-Edo period (1700s). The cuirass consists of 2 divided iron plates, finished with very detailed Honkozane hand-spliced small iron pieces painted in gold lacquer and hair-spread dark blue silk braid lacings. The Kabuto helmet is composed of 32 separate hand-spliced iron plates in black and gold, each with its own specific proportions. When joined, they form the perfectly formed kabuto shown here.

A certificate comes with this item. The Tokubetsu Kicho paper certificates granted by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. Storage boxes, display stand(new), and all pieces shown in the catalogue come with.
